Committees

CHAMBER AMBASSADORS - Effective January 2008, the Chamber is combining the Red Carpet and Community Ambassador Committees. The new group will carry out the missions of the past two committees including being responsible for both welcoming new Chamber members and recognizing important milestones that our local businesses are celebrating. We welcome all current members of both committees to be a part of the new Chamber Ambassador Committee. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact Sharon Abert at 470-1810.

EXECUTIVE DIALOGUE - Groups of non-competing business owners/managers meet monthly for candid peer discussions and assistance. Each group acts as board and consultant for its members on a variety of topics. Call Sharon Grabosky at 470-1870 for more information. Next enrollment will be February 2007.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE - This is the lobbying arm of the Chamber. Members meet with elected officials and policy makers, explore issues, formulate positions, lead lobbying efforts and sponsor events such as an annual Issues Conference, Small Business Lobbying Day, NY Day in Washington, etc. Call Deb Warner at 470-1845 for additional information.

Chamber EVENTS COMMITTEE - Join this group of volunteers who plan Chamber events such as our Annual Meeting / Business of the Year, Clambake, Golf Outing, Business After Hours, and Economic Forecast Luncheon. Call Sharon Grabosky at 470-1870 for additional information.

TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE - Attend this meeting to assist in planning training for small business owners and employees. Ideas about how to present topics of pressing interest, in formats that “make sense” for small businesses at reasonable cost, are welcome. Call Carol Hill at 470-1845 for additional information.

GOVERNMENT MODERNIZATION TASKFORCE – Member volunteers study, develop and support ways for local governments in Central New York to become more efficient. Meetings are generally the second Thursday of each month. Call Deb Warner at 470-1845 for additional information.
