Committees
CHAMBER
AMBASSADORS - Effective January 2008, the Chamber is combining the Red Carpet
and Community Ambassador Committees. The new group will carry out the missions
of the past two committees including being responsible for both welcoming new
Chamber members and recognizing important milestones that our local businesses
are celebrating. We welcome all current members of both committees to be a
part of the new Chamber Ambassador Committee. If you are interested in joining

EXECUTIVE DIALOGUE
- Groups of non-competing business owners/managers meet monthly for candid
peer discussions and assistance. Each group acts as board and consultant
for its members on a variety of topics. Call Sharon

GOVERNMENT
RELATIONS COMMITTEE - This is the lobbying arm of the Chamber. Members
meet with elected officials and policy makers, explore issues, formulate positions,
lead lobbying efforts and sponsor events such as an annual Issues Conference,
Small Business Lobbying Day, NY Day in Washington, etc. Call Deb

EVENTS COMMITTEE - Join this group of volunteers who plan Chamber events
such as our Annual Meeting / Business of the Year, Clambake, Golf Outing, Business
After Hours, and Economic Forecast Luncheon. Call Sharon

TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE - Attend this meeting to assist in
planning training for small business owners and employees. Ideas about how
to present topics of pressing interest, in formats that “make sense” for
small businesses at reasonable cost, are welcome. Call Carol

GOVERNMENT MODERNIZATION TASKFORCE – Member volunteers study,
develop and support ways for local governments in Central New York to become
more efficient. Meetings are generally the second Thursday of each month. Call

HOSPITALITY VOLUNTEER CORPS – The Syracuse Convention & Visitors
Bureau, the primary tourism promotion agency for Syracuse and Onondaga County
and a division of the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce, is offering an
excellent opportunity for area residents, students, professionals, seniors
and Syracuse enthusiasts alike to support, market, and promote all the things
that make Syracuse a wonderful place to visit! Flexible hours and diverse volunteer
opportunities such as: staffing hospitality desks, supporting events, and welcoming
visitor delegates, are available throughout the year. Volunteer Coordinator:
