Entrepreneurial Council
The Entrepreneurial Council of the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce was formed in September 1999. The Councils mission is to provide or connect to a comprehensive array of programs to support the development of entrepreneurial ventures in Greater Syracuse. Membership is comprised of approximately 45 business and educational organizations that have a desire to foster the creation of an entrepreneurial community. Within the Council, four sub-committees were formed to oversee the areas of Organization, Programs, Research and Marketing. Four priorities have been identified which include:
- Priority 1 Development of www.SyracuseEntrepreneur.com,
a "go to" Internet site that will link to appropriate web
sites that can be a resource to budding entrepreneurs.
- Priority 2 Explore the viability of creating an Angel
Network that would assist entrepreneurs with the financial needs of
growing their business.
- Priority 3 Develop a series of programs that would offer
a variety of topics such as business plan development, marketing and
legal structure.
- Priority 4 - Develop an ongoing program that will recognize
successful entrepreneurs in the Syracuse community.
Entrepreneurs often struggle to obtain information to get their businesses
started. The Council launched www.SyracuseEntrepreneur.com
which contains a wide variety of information at one location.
Syracuse is a city that embraces the entrepreneurial spirit. If you are
a budding entrepreneur or would like more information about local entrepreneurial
efforts, we invite you to contact our Entrepreneurial Council for details.
