Our economy is bouncing back with a flair! The Central New York job market is brighter than it has been in a number of years. The four county region of Onondaga, Cayuga, Oswego and Madison counties out-gained the nation’s job growth rate last year, 2.4 percent to 2.2. It is positive news that 8,200 new jobs have been created and the pulse of the region beats strongly. RFA Dismal Sciences, a West Chester, PA economic consulting firm, called the job growth figure for Syracuse "astounding." According to the New York State Department of Labor, the May 2000 unemployment rate for the Syracuse MSA was 3.8 percent and 354,000 people were employed.
Syracuse is proud of its world-class quality workforce. Currently there are countless jobs in all employment sectors waiting to be filled.
