You Get Out Of It… What We Put In.

Sure we provide events and opportunities for members to achieve visibility and make connections. But the rest of the Chamber story is seldom told.

Our collective efforts are clearly illustrated by the diagram to the right. Each member company supports the Chamber’s work in the areas indicated in orange. Strength in these areas in turn can be utilized by individual employees within a company, a member company itself or, in the much larger picture, the region as a whole

As your chamber, we are a business resource center for over 2200 business members. From training and education programs, family business planning, health and wealth benefits and business financing to providing regional demographic information, labor and workforce statistics, economic trending reports and relocation packages.

We also play a leading role in economic and community development. Efforts include downtown revitalization, workforce development and launching and supporting new and emerging businesses from our Tech Garden. We drive initiatives in work place diversity and employee recruitment and are actively building a green and clean tech sector to compete in the global economy. Top that with efforts in the infrastructure/transportation sector, (the highways, waterways, air and high speed rail systems) that a business uses to transport goods and consumers and it becomes clear our work is critical to this region’s success.

Our government relations and advocacy efforts are second to none. We are the voice of business, large and small, to local, state and federal leaders. We spearhead government modernization efforts and team with other influential business organizations such as Unshackle Upstate NY to increase our political strength for member causes.

It is the goal of the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce to create a region we can all be proud of. It is easy to see that as a chamber member you get out of it what our collective effort puts in.
